Hi, I’m Cheryl. I’m a UX/UI Designer, Illustrator, and Digital Creator based on the Isle of Man. I work across product design, web design, and visual creation, focusing on clarity, usability, and building things that actually function in the real world.
My work covers user research, complex user flows, responsive web products, visual assets, and full design systems. I deliver dev-ready Figma files and regularly design and build live sites. I also use AI-assisted workflows to explore, prototype, and move ideas into production faster, without losing craft or intent.
Alongside my design work, I’ve built and run real businesses, including an events business where I designed and delivered everything end to end, from brand and website to booking flows and automation. That hands-on experience shapes how I think about constraints, trade-offs, and what genuinely works outside a design file.
Outside of work, I ride a motorbike, take part in charity rides, spend time outdoors with my dogs, and propagate far too many plants.
Design System & Figma Variables
Developed a semantic token naming system and introduced variables to improve consistency, flexibility, and theming across the design system. Built and refined components using auto layout and best practices, and documented everything with dev-ready specs to ensure smooth handoff and easy adoption.
Mobile-First Tournaments Product
Designed a new tournaments experience from the ground up, starting with mobile. This included sign-in flows, error states, lobby design, gameplay screens, and leaderboard UI. Collaborated closely with the product and development teams to align design with functionality, edge cases, and real-time interactions.
UX Research Process from Start to Finish
Introduced a full UX research framework, starting with a structured project requirements doc. Planned and ran qualitative and quantitative testing using SUS, UMUX-Lite, and Time-on-Task, then synthesised findings through affinity mapping. Delivered clear insights and actionable recommendations that directly informed design decisions.
Gamified Customer Event App
Designed a gamified customer events app that increased engagement and improved the live event experience. Owned UX and UI across onboarding, core flows, reusable components, and interaction patterns, informed by iterative testing and user feedback.
